Longhorn Steakhouse

So this restaurant has the nerve to call this margarita the,"Perfect Margarita", so I had to try it. The menu says it has Sauza Commemorativo tequila, Grand Marnier, Patron Citronge, Triple Sec, and orange, lemon & lime juices.

Just from that description I was thinking too sweet with too much orange in it.

Yep, I was right.

I am good with the Triple Sec and Grand Marnier, but the Citronge made it too orangy. Take that away and it might be a 5 or 6, as it is though, it is a 4 out of 10.

On the plus side, their ribeye medium well, is pretty good.

Chili's

Today is the "El Presidente", at Chili's in League City, off of I-45, It has Sauza Commemorative Anejo Tequila, Patron Citronge Premium Orange Liqueur and Presidente Brandy. At least it wasn't served in a goblet, although it was served in a Martini glass. All those great ingredients though can't overcome the sweet sour mix they use. It seems like a little more orange Liqueur and a half shot more of the Tequila, would push this margarita to maybe a 6, Unfortunately, as is, it is a 4 out of 10.

Las Brisas

Hung out with some friends in League City and went to Las Brisas restaurant located at 501 N Wesley Dr.,League City, TX. 77573. Im not in Round Rock, so I might have to change the title of my blog. Maybe later. For now, we are trying the margarita, " El Jefe". Looks like standard house rita, with Grand Marnier. Again served in a goblet. Did not get a chance to ask about the tequila used for the mix, but the floater you pour in is Don Julio Blanco. My friend told me it tasted good before the shot, I will take his word on it. I can tell you that the Don Julio shot gave it a strong tequila taste that overpowered the lime and sweet orange liqueur, but was worth it, being a smooth premium tequila. Overall smooth decent strong margarita that will rate a 8 of 10.

Morelia's

My wife and I are at Morelias on 79 near Egger in Round Rock.

Just missed $3 Happy Hour, so the frozen margaritas are $4.50.
Looks like a normal margarita in the ubiquitous beer goblet, (I have yet to get a margarita in a margarita glass around here), and taste is average. The consistency is good but it seems to have too much sweet and sour mix in it. On the plus side, their chicken quesadillas are pretty good.

Overall a 4 out 10

I will try to get them to tell me what kind of tequila they use and give an update.
